This package includes free activities and necessary equipment: 40 km of hiking trails, mountain biking, Geocaching, Canoeing, Kayaking on the Rivière du Loup, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Fitness room, Outdoor pool, Pool, Jacuzzis and indoor saunas.

Enjoy 2 nights on the enchanting site of Baluchon Éco-villégiature in Mauricie where you will discover unique outdoor and relaxation experiences in pure nature. One night at the beginning of your stay and one night at the end to finish in comfort after your adventure in Manawan, Native community of the Atikamekw nation. You will live an exotic experience of learning and cultural exchange in rustic comfort in a natural setting on a remote Island on the huge Kempt Lake (61 km long).

Day 1: Arrival in the afternoon at the Baluchon. Welcome and detailed presentation of the site activities by one of our receptionists. Check-in in the rooms in one of the hostels. Enjoy the many outdoor activities available (hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking). Dinner three services bistro type.

Day 2: Continental breakfast at the Éco-café at the end of the world. Enjoy the many outdoor activities available (hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking). Lunch at the Éco-café at the end of the world. Departure for Saint-Étienne-des-Grès (30 min) for the flight by seaplane to Manawan (1 h). Arrival at 5 pm at the traditional site on the Matakan Island. Installation in a teepee with floor mats, fir branches and campfire. Moose meat dinner (pasta if vegetarian), fishing nets installation and discussions around a campfire.

Day 3: Breakfast and nets lifting. Introduction to canoeing (2 pers. / Canoe) and interpretation. Hike around the Island with interpretation of flora and fauna including medicinal plants. Lunch. Return (1h total) by boat to Manawan for a tour of the community. Demonstration workshop of bark craft and the Atikamekw language. Dinner with traditional menu (fish, banik, game) depending on the catch of the day; dicussions around the campfire on the Atikamekw legends and history. Astronomical ride in the dark in a canoe or rabaska.

Day 4: Breakfast and canoe ride, rabaska and swimming possible. Back to St-Etienne-des-Grès in seaplane (1 hour) to get to the Baluchon (30 min). Lunch at the Éco-café at the end of the world. Heading to the health center for a relaxing massage at leisure or reflexology (45 min) followed by a Nordic spa session. Dinner three services bistro type.

Day 5: Continental breakfast at the Éco-café at the end of the world. Departure to your next destination or return to Montreal.

  • NO SEAPLANE with transportation by SUV roundtrip from the Baluchon to Manawan $ 150 / person.
  • You can do it by your own means

If there is no seaplane transportation, the meeting is at 4:30 pm in the community of Manawan. Meeting with the Native guides and boat transfer (35 minutes) on the Kempt Lake. The return will be the same with the visit of the community before returning to the place of the excursion included in Day 3. A canoe ride, with rabaska and swimming possible will replace the excursion in the community on Day 3.
